Gin-gin mule

A twist on the Moscow Mule which was invented in the 1940s in Los Angeles. The Gin Gin Mule exchanges the Vodka for Jake’s Gin and adds the element of mint.

INGREDIENTS

40ml Jake’s Gin

20ml simple syrup

15ml lime juice

ginger beer

handful of mint leaves

INSTRUCTIONS

In a cocktail shaker, muddle the mint leaves with lime juice and simple syrup to release the essence of the herbs.

Add gin and ice to the shaker and shake well.

Double strain into a copper mug filled with crushed ice.

Top with ginger beer.

Garnish with an 8th of lime, sprig of mint and pop a straw in.

Jake’s top tip: Make sure to use ginger beer and not ginger ale. Yes, there is a real difference! The Gin-Gin Mule relies on the deeper flavours of ginger beer to stand up to other ingredients.
